The next night was psychometry night. Psychometry is the ability to read the history of certain objects by holding the object in your hand or placing it to your forehead. Usually, small personal objects such as a watch, ring, key or other personal objects are the best. Psychometry is a good way to help you with your psychic growth.

Carole had us pair off into groups and instructed everyone in the room to give a piece of jewelry to their partner. Carole had us hold the jewelry in our hand. We were to say the first thing that came into our minds. In this exercise we should be able to get in tune with the person by intuiting things like how their day went, what they had for lunch, or their favorite color.

My partner handed me her ring. I held the ring tightly in my left hand and focused my thoughts. Nothing! My mind was a blank, so I began to guess. Every guess I made was wrong.  However, she was very good at this. By holding my watch, she knew about my day and what I had eaten for lunch. She even knew my favorite color. Everyone in the room was amazed at how accurate she was with everyone’s reading.

On the first night after dinner, Margaret Seven Feathers had our group of twenty-four form a circle so she could teach us the four directions of the medicine wheel: North, South, East, and West. The medicine wheel is an ancient and powerful symbol of the Universe. Our life travels the wheel in the same way as the earth travels around the sun, from east to west. It is a way of measuring our own progress and development and a means for assessing what we must work on next in our journey through life.

The medicine wheel is a symbolic tool that helps us to see the interconnectedness of our being within the rest of creation. The direction East on the wheel is where our life journey begins; it is learning to be in the here and now. The South is a place of summer and fullness of youth when we have physical strength and vigor for testing the physical body. The love learned in the South is the love of one person to another. The West is the direction of the unknown and of going within and of dreams. It is a place of testing, where the will is stretched to its utmost limit. The North is the place of winter; the dawning place of true wisdom. The North is seen as the direction of completion and fulfillment. There is no ending to the journey of the four directions. The human capacity to develop is infinite. The medicine wheel turns forever.

“Over eleven thousand years ago, there was an island nation located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and that was ruled by a noble, powerful race. The people of this land had great wealth due to the natural resources found throughout their island. The island was a center for trade and commerce. The rulers of this land influenced the people of their own island as well as people in Europe and Africa.

“This was the island of Atlantis. There were many beautiful cities that were constructed of stone built throughout the land. Water flowed in through great conduits from the mountains and was distributed to the individual buildings and to the many beautiful pools. The buildings rose around the temple in the heart of the city; rising in tiers. Highly polished colored stones were used; and inlay work was prevalent.

“In the temple were enormous semi-circular columns of onyx, topaz, and beryl, inlaid with amethyst and other stones that caught the rays of the sun at various angles. Here the sacred fires burned continually with rays that are unknown today. The Atlanteans were in tune to God's Energy. As I mentioned, they had the ability to coexist in other worlds and to travel in space.

“Then the scientists of Atlantis experimented with human D.N.A. and created a new breed of humans that were inferior to the Atlanteans. The mutants were blinded to the universal energies and became somewhat primitive-minded. The Atlanteans cast off many of the mutants to other continents and a few were kept as slaves. Not all Atlanteans approved of the D.N.A. mutation and henceforth, there was havoc in the city that tore the civilization apart. When the great flood covered the earth, it destroyed the city and most Atlanteans.

“Some fled to the stars to escape the wrath of God. The mutant humans of Africa and Europe, who were unaware and uninformed, populated the new earth. There is a special code that will activate the lost memory of the human race. My guides instructed me to help you to find your code. After you have your code, the spiritual knowledge will come to you in abundance.”
 
I had read of stories about the lost city of Atlantis, but I have never given it much thought. The way that Deborah described the island and the people that inhabited it was as if she was from there. It amazed me that she knew so much of Atlantis. Nevertheless, it was what she said next that was so hard to believe.

This is the art of healing. The thing is to learn how to draw on this energy and send it to the person who really needs it. Anyone can do this. First, you must have an open mind and trust, and then it will happen. The river of energy is a vibration; the human body is also a form of vibrations, everything in the Universe is a form of vibration.

“The movement of electrons and protons of every atom, every molecule, every substance, creates the vibration. God created all with this vibration. When we lift our vibrations, we are increasing the vibration frequency of the electron and protons. As the vibrations increase, they are lifted into a higher realm of existence; the more vibrant you are, the more enlightened you become. Don’t think that because the Collective are made of a higher vibration, that only we have the gift of receiving the Universal Life Force. Anybody can do this; however, it’s learning the lesson and knowing what to do with this energy. In writing this book, the Collective will only skim the surface about subjects you are learning. Once we make you aware of new things, it’s up to you to go and find your teachers to help you learn these great lessons. There are teachers amongst you who are masters in their studies.

On NBC there is a comedy television show called “My Name is Earl.” It is based on Karma in a comical way. It reminded me of what I learned in Sunday school about the Golden Rule, “Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you.” Wondering if the Golden Rule had anything to do with Karma, I looked it up in the dictionary and found that in the Hinduism and Buddhism beliefs, the word Karma means the total effect of a person’s actions and conduct during successive phases of his existence. Another way to look at Karma, it stands for cause and effect. What goes around comes around and if you live by the Golden Rule, you should have good Karma.

 Passage from Chapter Three

 Is There More To Life Than What We Know?

The Shaman

There was an elder who lived alone in the mountains many miles from a settlement and away  from his tribe, because he refused to live on a reservation. When in need of supplies, he would travel down the mountainside to the settlement.
The town’s people thought the elder was crazy and senile and others would make fun of him. He was treated with prejudice and unkindness. The elder would appear to have conversations with himself, as if someone were there. At times, he would laugh out loud for no reason and when he brought his furs for trade, he would ask the imaginary person if the trades were fair.

Not everyone thought him to be crazy. So it eventually came the day that while traveling back to his home in the mountains, a fellow tribesman came to him.  He treated the elder with great respect, as if he were chief. He begged the elder to return to the reservation for he was needed spiritually. The elder agreed to return.  When he arrived, the people cheered and presented him with gifts. The chief of the tribe welcomed him with honors and invited him to share the fire circle.

You see, his people knew that the elder was a shaman, a spiritual leader: the one who talks to the Great Spirit.  As the tribal council sat around the fire, the chief asked, what lessons have our spiritual brothers brought to us? The shaman closed his eyes and invited the spiritual brothers to join their circle to teach a lesson. They brought this lesson that I now share with you:

"We are Spiritual Brothers who reside with the Great Spirit and coexist side by side with the earth. There is a veil that separates our world from yours. The shaman has the gift to see beyond your world into other coexisting worlds. We are master and teachers of the Great Power of the Universe. Most of the people of the earth have forgotten where they came from and have forgotten about the Great Power of the universe. This is why so many are blinded to enlightenment, for they do not understand. When you are enlightened to the Great Power, you then own the Universe.”
