It just so happened that my early metaphysical explorations occurred just as we were approaching the advent of the Harmonic Convergence.  As August 6, 1987 approached, the news media joked about this historic event.  This is the time, according to prophecy of the Mayan calendar, that all of the planets in our solar system would align. This event only happens every twenty-four thousand years. This day would welcome the coming of the New Age, uniting people to pray for peace and the healing of the earth, and to raise our vibration. There was that word again that I kept running into in my journey - vibration!

I watched the sunrise that morning with my kids at the Unity Church of Palm Beach, Florida, along with several hundred other people. I don’t know what I was expecting on that day. I wondered if maybe the earth was going to change, but into what? Maybe we human beings might change, but again, into what? The build-up and the anticipation of the Harmonic Convergence were driving me mad; I had so many questions but no answers. After a few hours of waiting with high expectation, I decided that it was a waste of my time and headed home.

As I watched the news that evening, reports came from all over the world that millions of people had celebrated. They celebrated in Mt. Shasta in California and at Stonehenge in Europe; they celebrated in South America, Africa and Canada. They aired people dancing at the Pyramids of Egypt and on the rooftops of New York City. All over the world, millions of people had celebrated the Harmonic Convergence.


It wasn’t until a couple of years after the Harmonic Convergence that I really understood what had happened. The vibrations of the earth had changed, as evidenced when everyone in the world witnessed the Berlin wall being torn down and the fall of Communism.  My journey, along with that of millions of others, had truly begun.
