Is There More To Life Than What We Know?

Our teacher, Marilyn Raphael, is a renowned trance channel, and the author of her own book, The Angelic Force.  A trance channel is a person who goes into a trance and a spirit entity merges with that person’s body and soul. Their expressions and mannerisms will change. You can even see a physical change in their appearance.

When I first met Marilyn, I didn’t know what to expect. The only other channel that I had ever met before was Carole, so I thought when you’ve seen one channel medium, you’ve seen them all. Boy, was I wrong. I mean really, really wrong! When Carole had channeled, she would hear the voice of her guide who was very knowledgeable spiritually and had the ability to express messages to everyone.  

The way that Marilyn channeled her spirit guide, who went by the name Gean, was unexpected to me. I had never witnessed anything like this in my life. When Marilyn channeled, she would sit with her legs crossed and her eyes closed while meditating until she slipped into a trance. As I watched her I saw her features actually transform physically. At first I could not make out the changes very clearly. Then her facial features began to acquire a masculine look; her head became square, her brow began to protrude, and her jaw looked chiseled. After the transformation was finished, Marilyn looked like a completely different person with the characteristics of a man.

When the spirit spoke through Marilyn, the voice was deep, with a foreign accent. The entity welcomed everyone, but came across as being unfriendly. He was very arrogant and downright rude, behaving as if everyone were beneath him. I expected the entity to be wise and gentle. I thought that it should be that way because I personally think that everything of spirit should be wise and gentle, so I was greatly put off by this sarcasm towards the group.

When it was my turn to ask a question, Gean looked directly towards me and gave me a smirk as if I were wasting his time. So I came right out and asked the spirit what my purpose is in life; asking, “Why am I here?”  The response from Gean was quite shocking and unexpected.

“Your purpose!” he retorted; “Is that all you want? Your purpose, Joseph, is to take up space, to breathe the air, to breed, to aggravate others, and to invade their space!  Or do you want the real reason?”

"Yes, I want the real reason!”   Then I added, “And why do you have to be so sarcastic, I thought spirits were supposed to be friendly?” I must confess, I yelled this last part out to Gean.
    
Unperturbed, the spirit continued to speak.  "What is Joseph's purpose? And why is he here? Well then, should we bathe Joseph in gold or silver, for he is the only privileged one in this room? This is the real purpose as to why you are here: to remain on guard, to be a watcher, and to be a wonderful reporter. This is your purpose, for you will be proof, and always have been proof, in the past, of The Christ!"
    
I was dumbfounded.  To remain on guard, what was that about? A wonderful reporter?  ‘Yeah, right!’ I thought, ‘I’m not a writer!’  And the proof in the past to the Christ? What was going on here?  I asked the spirit Gean to explain this message and he gave this response:
 
"You see, Joseph, you have lived many lives before; this is what is called reincarnation. You lived all of these lives in order to fulfill your karma. You have heard that ‘what goes around comes around’ and Joseph, each time you reincarnate, you move closer to finishing off karma. When your karma is complete, that is when your work is done on Earth; then you are welcome to reside here with your Guides. Or maybe you can choose a new life away from earth to fulfill new karma.

“Joseph, in one of your past lives, you were here on earth while Jesus visited and you witnessed his amazing miracles.  You were a messenger for The Christ: a reporter, a teacher, and a scribe. Joseph, you protected him from any false rumors and threats of the nonbelievers. Now his Christ energy is with you. Joseph, once more, you will be on guard, to be a wonderful reporter and a witness to the Christ. This was your promise when you reincarnated to earth this time.” Gean paused and went on to say, “Joseph is going to feel quite holy tonight!”
 
I was speechless! What could I say? Did I believe in this message? Maybe we should all have a big laugh!  I do have to say that Gean was very sincere when it came to clarifying my purpose in life. He advised me to have trust in Marilyn’s teachings and he told me that I was on the verge of becoming a noted trance channel myself.
